Grandchildren

What a joy it is to have grandchildren. Wanted to share some pictures I happen to have on hand.

Ooooooooooo!

I think I need some instructions in the world of blogging. I will keep this simple. I found this photograph, loved it, saved it, and am now sharing it.

The First

Don't you just love the color green? I have always loved the color green. It is so clean and outdoorsy (is this a real word?). I will probably just babble in my first attempt to blog, so bare with me.

I chose this font because it was the closest thing to a typewriter font that I could choose from and today I am thinking a great deal about my mother.
Those of you who didn't know her, didn't know that she had a way of putting down words on a page that, if you did know her, you could hear her voice as you read her words. Her penmanship was horrible. She grew up in the day when people who were left handed had very little guidance in how to hold a pencil. However, I watched President Obama place his signature on a paper and noticed he held his pen the same way mom used to, so maybe it was not so much an age thing, as it was a training thing.

Anyway, back to mom. Although her penmanship was barely legible, she could pluck the keys of a typewriter (using only her index fingers by the way) and the words flowed. I miss my mom today.
